SEDA Green Drinks (Glasgow)
“Eco Without the Bling”: Frank Boyle, Andy Woodburn, Nina Baker & Alistair Whitelaw
Thursday 28th August 2014 - 5.30pm for a 6pm start.
New Glasgow Society, 1307 Argyle Street, Glasgow G3 8TL
We're pleased to invite you to our next Green Drinks where we will hear from speakers who are quietly getting on with low-impact living through retro-fitting their own homes or through the creation of new homes which reduce fuel poverty and improve health. We are regaled with eco-bling and “greenwash” at every turn, but what about the people who just get on with it; doing what they can to improve lives and the environment without the accolades? Glsagow SEDA’s Green drinks programme re-starts with reports from the front line.
Two householders will explain the measures they have taken to reduce their impact on the ecosystem. On alarger scale, but equally unacknowledged, a development officer will tell us how his local housing association sees tackling climate change as part of the wider struggle against poverty and lack of opportunities.
There will be plenty of time for questions and discussion, oh and a drink or two. A small individual contribution – usually about £3-£5 will be sought towards the cost of this event. Come and join us for a lively evening of discussions and socializing in convivial company! See you there.
