Wednesday 3rd December 2014 from 5.30pm – 9.30pm

Venue: Architecture & Design Scotland, Bakehouse Close, 146 Canongate, Edinburgh EH8 8DD

We look forward to encouraging both members and non-members to come along to meet each other and hear about our projects and activities – with food and drink as well.

Although you DO have to be a SEDA member (or part of a company membership) to give a talk, you don’t have to be a member - or to give a talk - to join us for this event. This is open evening - members, their friends, and anyone interested in ecological design is welcome to come along. Students are particularly welcome. There will be small charge to cover the costs of making the arrangements and for providing food and drinks for everyone.

The Show and Tell is an increasingly popular and well-attended opportunity for members to talk about their current work, ideas, dreams, activities and projects. The ground rules for presentations are simple – three slides and no more than five minutes for each contributor. If you'd like to give a presentation, prepare a short talk (approx. 5 mins) on any relevant subject - recent projects, new ideas, ecological initiatives, places, landscapes, other works - which inspire you, and allow a little time for feedback/ discussion. The talk will be timed and can be illustrated with up to 3 slides - each of which can be comprised of any number of images - which should be sent in advance to Matt Bridgestock, who has agreed to collate the slides beforehand into a computer-based show for the evening. Try to keep the file sizes down. We have already received notice, and information, for a number of talks - but there are still some slots remaining!

Images must be either JPEGs or PDFs. You must make the filename of your images the name you would like to credit followed by the number (1,2,3), for example: mattbridgestock_1.jpg

PLEASE NOTE! A selection from the evenings’ SEDA members presentations will be included in a Members’ Gallery on our website as well as in future issues of SEDA magazine. We will assume that you are giving us permission to do this when you send your images. If you do not want us to use the images for the website or the magazine, please include a note to this effect in the email!

Booking your place

This is very popular event and the number of people we can accommodate will be limited by the capacity of the venue. So, to make sure you have a place and that we have made provisions for everyone to eat and drink on the night, please let Mary Kelly know if you are planning to come along - and whether you'll be giving a talk or not.
