Krystyna Johnson (KJ) Award

Venue: Level 2, The Lighthouse, 11 Mitchell Lane, Glasgow
Exhibition: 29th September - 31st October 2016

Re-launched in 2012 the Krystyna Johnson Award enters its fifth year and, hosted by Architecture and Design Scotland for the fourth successive year at The Lighthouse, it encourages second year architectural students to bring ecological thought to their work from the outset.

Each of the five Scottish Schools of Architecture along with guest Vilnius Gediminas Technical University each promoted one project in their curriculum for consideration, and awards were granted to each School.

Projects ranged in content and location and include: Refugee Housing in Beith; a Library in St Andrews; a mobile market place; recreational complex in Lithuania; a community library in South Queensferry and Camerae Obscura in Edinburgh.

The overall winner was chosen as Natalia Kowalska of Dundee Architecture School for her design for a community library in South Queensferry. Click here to view an image of the successful entry.
