John gilbert architect’s Kerr MacGregor Award Statement
John Gilbert Architects have a long association with the Kerr MacGregor Award, the Solar movement in Scotland and SEDA, we are delighted to support this award. Kerr was a well known face to the office and with John, we took that influence and tried to bring the innovation and ideas into our projects.
Matt is managing director of John Gilbert Architects, an innovative and award winning company based in Glasgow. Matt has substantial experience in the delivery of sustainable buildings, he and his team have worked on a number of small and larger scale co-housing and community led housing schemes. Matt has led the practice for more than 12 years and has developed a number of ambitious partnerships to deliver low carbon sustainable places including Passivhoos, Hab-Lab and Sussed Sustainability. Matt is a Passivhaus designer and certifier of design (Section 6), He is on the Passivhaus Trust Technical Panel and is vice Chair of the PHT Scotland regional group. He is former chair of Scottish Ecological Design Association and holds advanced accreditation by the RIAS for Sustainable Design.
