Amsterdam ‘City Doughnut’ Plan to Build Back Better, with Katherine Trebeck
As we remain restricted to our localities, SEDA and Transition Edinburgh have arranged another on-line event on the theme of Build Back Better, to follow May’s discussion with Robin McAlpine of Common Weal.
This was a great evening, with over 100 people taking part via Zoom, with plenty of opportunity to debate the possibility of their plan for rebuilding after the lockdown, and we hope you will join us to hear Katherine Trebeck discuss the radical approach for a more just society that is being taken in Amsterdam.
We also want to highlight two other on line events around sustainable deign that you may want to look into and take part in: on interior design and timber

Amsterdam City Doughnut- Wellbeing Economics 25 June from 6pm, on Zoom
Amsterdam City Doughnut - commissioned by the Deputy Mayor - illustrates how embroiled northern cities are in inequality, exploitation, racism and extractivism.
Katherine Trebeck, Advocacy & Influencing Lead for the Wellbeing Economy Alliance, will set this work in context of a new economic framework and kick off roundtable discussions exploring a way out of the black hole of Coronavirus Pandemic and Financial Depression.

Katherine instigated the group of Wellbeing Economy Governments (WEGo) - which currently comprises Scotland, New Zealand, Iceland, and Wales - founded on the recognition that ‘development’ entails delivering human and ecological wellbeing. She developed Oxfam's Humankind Index and led Oxfam's work on a 'human economy'.
While initiated by Transition Edinburgh this event is co-hosted by the Wellbeing Economy Alliance, Scottish Ecological Design Association, Scottish Communities Climate Action Network, Cockburn Association - Edinburgh Civic Trust and Transition Scotland. Other co-hosts invited - enables you to be part of the breakout room facilitation team.
