SEDA Gathering

An afternoon for SEDA Members to assemble to discuss and help shape SEDA's future.

Following COP 26, we committed to taking action on a range of subjects related to mitigating climate change and of course our origins in ecological design mean that we retain a commitment to biodiversity, pollution avoidance, health, well-being and meeting the needs of communities. It is important that we continue to stay at the forefront of thinking – across all disciplines - and align our actions accordingly to best support those pursuing ecological design in agriculture, engineering, architecture, fashion, IT, the creative arts, education, sport, habitat and the rest. For us to have relevant impact we need to decide where to focus our time and energy.

To deliver, SEDA needs input, feedback and involvement from the wider SEDA membership. We want to hear every members' opinions, debate what we do and get people involved in making it happen!

We have now arranged this SEDA Gathering on 07 May at the Charteris Centre, 138-140, The Pleasance in Edinburgh, EH8 9RR, for members to come together for this reason.

A key part of this initiative is to restart the in-person networking that has been such a strong part of SEDA’s strength and so diminished during lockdown. However, to ensure the involvement of those who cannot attend due to distance, this will be a blended event to allow SEDA members to attend online as well. But if you can come in person, we would encourage it. We really want to make the face to face contacts that allow us to set things happening.

At the gathering we will discuss the actions, events, publications and research that SEDA should carry out over the next few years to create the changes that we feel are important as individuals and an organisation. Key roles to help deliver any of this are currently in need of being filled, but we need to discuss how that can be organised best in a way that all members can get easily involved. We want as many SEDA members as possible to take part in this process, and to restart the network of volunteers and projects that will help deliver the actions that we agree. If you have good ideas on how that would work for you, how you have seen it work elsewhere, where we can work best with other groups, then please join us, and help direct the organisation at this crucial time.

We look forward to seeing you there (members only of course), hopefully in person, or otherwise online.
