This seminar will introduce the solar PV manufacturing process i.e. from quartz to PV panel, with a brief introduction to the Malaysian solar PV industry supply chain. This will be followed by an account of how China's solar PV industry and market rised from virtually zero into a world leader in less than two decades by China PV expert Frank Haugwitz.
Two short presentations will be followed by Q&A and discussions. The event will take place online.
1. How are PV panels made? An introduction to solar PV manufacturing and the supply chain in Malaysia by Dr PuiWah Wong, Research Associate, University of Edinburgh.
2. The rise of China as the world’s biggest PV manufacturer and market by Frank Haugwitz, Founder, Asia Europe Clean Energy (Solar) Advisory Co. Ltd. (AECEA).
